The program intend to strongly emphasize social participatory initiatives and inter-sectoral institutional collaboration with action to address the determinants of natural health. The ‘Building Healthier Coimbatore Naturally’ recognizes the determinants of health based on broader understanding of health and the need to work in collaboration across public, private, voluntary and community sector organizations. This way of working and thinking includes involving local people in implementation, requires social commitment and organizational and community development, and recognizes the process to be as important as the outcomes.
Happy Menstruation Project: The project aims at educating girls of Class VIII on the process of healthy menstruation, good food habits for healthy menstruation, short activities/exercises that help in healthy menstruation and common menstrual diseases and disorders. Cost of such an awarness campaign at per school is estimated as Rs. 4,000/-
Medicinal Plant Garden & Awareness Program: The project aims at landscaping a Medicinal Plant Garden at 50 Schools in Coimbatore with at least 5 endangered species in each garden. The project aims in preservation and propagation of traditional knowledge and importance of preservation of the natural medicinal resources. Cost of such a project per school is estimated to be around Rs.40,000/-
